The last few days have been a blast. We spent some quality time with the pups at a dog park before packing up and taking off for our trips. We are headed to San Francisco then to Omaha so we will be gone for 2 weeks.
Today I’ve been working remotely at random coffee shops in San Francisco. I also stopped by “Automatic” a web development company in San Francisco. They’re a big deal. I got to talk with them for a bit and found out about a “development conference” they are putting on this summer. I may have to attend that event to continue my education in development.
Tonight, we just got back from a good dinner, we had crab legs and then Ghirardelli for desert. We walked by the bay, hence the reason for the post title. Below are a few pictures of the drive and our time in the city so far. Enjoy!
I’ve been working for myself for about 2 months now.
I was fortunate enough to have a nice and fairly new iMac computer when this transition happened. I’ve been enjoying working on it everyday but I’m starting to want to get out of the house more and more. Working from home is great but it kills the creative process at times. So I’ve decided to buy a new laptop. I would have bought one sooner but I’ve been also fortunate enough to have my part time Apple job to get me out of the house from time to time and by not purchasing a computer I can save money.
I’m now faced with the decision on which laptop I actually want to get. The Retina Macbook Pro or the Macbook Air? Right now I’m leaning toward the Retina Macbook Pro but, I still go back and forth on a hourly basis.
Any thoughts on this? Leave me a comment!
I hope you enjoy the new look. I’m going for something more flexible for mobile devices. If you get the chance, check out my site on your iPhone or iPad and let me know if you like how it looks. The fun part about the new design was getting to work with bootstrap for the first time. So far i’m digging what the twitter service has to offer and can’t wait to dig in more.
Being a web designer for a living is an interesting job. Seams like everyone and their mom does web design and development. Just like any job there are some up’s and down’s. One of the first lessons I learned as a web designer is to never sell yourself short. What I do for a living has value and means something. Continue reading “Web Work”
