I just had my birthday on Nov. 18th. I’ve told a few people, “turning 32 just feels right”. I can’t put my finger on why but, it does. I’m finally used to telling people I’m in my 30’s and I’m actually enjoying it.
Last year, I said all I wanted to do was blog more… Welp, I didn’t accomplish that. In fact, at one point through the year I took down this blog. I struggle with using this blog to update people or just using social media. I like the blog because it doesn’t include all the crap that comes along with social media. So, here I am, blogging again.
Goals for this year include, using this blog more. :) Hopefully that actually happens this time. I’d also like to look into fasting one day a week. Sounds weird but, I’ve heard its good on your health by balancing out your glucose. Plus, Hugh Jackman does a 16-hour fast to prep for his movies. Who doesn’t want to look like that guy?! I’ll be using an app called “Zero” to help track my progress. Once the holidays are over I’m going to try to gradually get into this routine. Lastly, I enjoyed recording my last few songs and would consider it extra credit if I got to do another one or two songs this year.
Cheers to being 32! As my grandma says, “like a fine wine, I get better with age”. :)
I turned 31 a month and a day ago. Things have been busy for me. Mostly because I spend so much time traveling to and from work each day… I’m not bitter about it. :) In all honestly though, if I didn’t like my job, the commute wouldn’t be worth it. Lucky for me, I’ve been enjoying it.
That in itself has made my last year. I haven’t really done a ton of stuff other than work. We put in a desert front lawn which took some getting used to visually. I really like the fact that now, I don’t need to mow or water at all. It’s very convenient!
I also recorded my 4 song EP that I’ve been talking about forever. Through the process, I’ve found it hard to find reliable people to work with. I imagine that is kind of what employers feel like when trying to hire for a position. The final mixes are almost done and I’ll post a link soon enough for everyone to listen to. I’m please with my progress so far!
This next year I hope to blog more. That’s it. I’ve basically done everything that I set out to do last year but blog. So this year I’m setting the bar low, blog more. :)
Here are a few pictures from my birthday, we went to Alcatraz this year. Enjoy.
This year I turn 30; that’s a big step in life. I remember when I turned 15 thinking I wanted to play in a band and travel the world. I also remember thinking by the time I was 30 I’d be ready to settle down, get married, and start thinking about a long term career. Needless to say, I grew up faster than I had imagined at 15 and I don’t mind that.
This is the year I feel like an official adult, mostly because of the number 30. It’s old enough to know better but young enough to still have fun. I’ve changed a lot though the years and still somehow stayed true to myself. I don’t think I’ll ever have everything figured out but at least I’ve learned how to learn and that’s enough for now.
I haven’t given an update on myself in awhile so here it is.
- I’m trying to record an album. I had no idea how much work it was going to be to do 10 songs and do everything on my own. It’s going to take a lot longer than I had expected. I hope it’s worth the time and effort, only time will tell.
- I’ve been at VSP for 1 year and 5 months already. It’s a great company to work for and I’ve learn a lot since I’ve started. I miss using WordPress daily the most since working here. There isn’t a ton of things I’d change about my job other than that. Using WordPress is much more enjoyable than any JAVA system.
- I haven’t played drums in about 3 years and I think that is going to change soon. Beth is getting me a new drum set for this birthday and I can’t wait (I’m sure the neighbors can though).
- We just tore out a tree in our front yard. The California drought is no joke. We are looking into replacing our lawn with rock or something that doesn’t require water.
For my 30th year I really just want to enjoy life and really focus on simplicity. Removing as much stress as possible will be my first step followed by removing physical items that I no longer use anymore. The older I get the more I want to remove things that are not needed to make room for the things that matter most.
Here is to my dirty 30’s!
Elizabeth turned 30 on the 15th of February. We went out of town to get her mind off of the big 3-0. Mendocino was a very nice, calm, relaxing trip for us. I think it was just what we needed. We ended up staying at a cottage that had an ocean view. Below are a few pics from our trip to Mendocino CA.
