Not long ago, I received a phone call from my mom telling me my grandpa has liver cancer and doesn’t want to go through treatment. At the time Louie had 3-6 months left with us.

On May 10th my Grandpa Louie completed his life’s journey. I’ve been “on the go” for quite sometime and needless to say this happened quicker than I imagined. Life is truly fragile.

Louie was a great guy and I’m sad to see such an awesome person leave this world. I was surprised that he decided to not go through treatment. Louie had been through a lot in life diabetes, heart surgery and kidney dialysis. The list goes on. I admire him and his spirit through the battles. He has taught me quite a bit.

Below are some photos that I have take over the last few years of him. Including some I took recently on our last visit to Omaha. I don’t have any of the older photos from when he was younger but, I’m thankful for the ones I do have.

RIP Louie, you were a great grandpa!

  1. That was a beautiful tribute to your grandfather Bryan (made me cry). We just need to remember that Grandpa’s legacy will continue through his family (the most important thing in life to him), for generations to come. It will be our responsibility to live our lives in a manner that he would be proud. We will all miss him terribly, but we will see him again one day.
