We don’t take too many vacations. I mean, we moved to California in 2013 (almost 5 years ago!) and we have enjoyed exploring this great state since being here. But, we don’t go on a lot of vacations. Nearby trips, sure. But we hardly ever go on a vacation. Most of our vacation time is spent traveling back home to Nebraska, to see family and friends.
The last big vacation we went on that I can remember was to Jamaica which was over 8 years ago. Needless to say, we’ve been wanting to go on one for awhile now.
When Elizabeth and I met, we initially thought it wouldn’t last long. Not because I’m a weirdo, but because she was going to be a foreign exchange student in Italy and was in the process of doing the paper work. We figured we’d hang out for 3-4 months then that’d be the end of it.
Lucky for me, she decided to stay in the US and see how things would go between us. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to take her to Italy to get a glimpse of what she missed out on.
Well, the trip is booked and I’m brushing up on my Italian. #excited
Pacifica is definitely one of my favorite places. If you get the opportunity to visit, do it. We got to spend last weekend there. Below are some pics.
We thought this years Christmas was going to be big and indeed it was. We started at 2:30 A.M. when we woke up to go to the airport. Needless to say we didn’t get much sleep.
We were hoping visit both sides of the family but sadly my dad caught the flu and we weren’t able to make it to the Lewis Christmas. He is feeling better now and tomorrow is his birthday! Everyone should call to wish him a happy birthday!
Below are some pictures of all the events that went down in Breakenridge CO for the Gledhill, Gines, Lewis Christmas.
It seemed as though Labor day was the day for weddings this year as we got invited to a few of them. Sadly we only got to attend one of them which was in LA. We had a fun trip seeing the stars and all of the touristy stuff in the area. Below are some pics of our trip.
We had the privilege to go to Omaha to attend a friends wedding. The trip seemed short and packed full of friends. We miss NE and our friends quite a bit.
Thanks to everyone who made us feel welcomed; especially Ryan and Josey Rogers who were so kind to let us stay at their beautiful home. They put up with us going in and out of their home late at night. You guys are the best!
For our 6 year wedding anniversary, Beth and I went to Yosemite. It’s the one place I’ve wanted to visit since moving to CA and it was worth it! The best way I could describe it was “epic”.
We also stopped along the way to visit Beth’s sister and brother in law. While we were there we ended up seeing a beached whale. While sad, it was a once in a life time experience. Below are some pictures of our time.
