Today is my birthday. I’m officially 27 years old. After 27 years of being alive, I’ve learned a lot. One thing that I’ve learned about in this last year is that life can get crazy. Seems simple and obvious but this last year has proven to me that no matter what things can come your way life can be very unexpected.
In the last year of my life I’ve accepted a job, started my own company and made a few personal decisions that completely altered my outlook on life. I’ve been very fortunate to have a family that supports me with every decision I’ve made and continue to make. This has been the key part for my sanity for my 26th year of life. My family has been by my side no matter what and I am grateful for that.
I suppose the lesson that I’ve learned most in my 26th year of living is that family is the most important thing and no matter what the situation is, you are never alone. Someone in the world is going through something similar. :)
– Thank you, friends and family. I truly do appreciate you.
For those of you wondering what I got for my birthday; I got a new office chair since I’ve been working from home quite a bit and a mini fridge for my man cave! Other than that I’ve gotten money and lots of wishes.
So I just want to go on record and state that God works in weird ways. As many of you know I’ve been working at Delinea this last year and I’ve been loving it. The Delinea crew is talented, hard working, and I love being apart of the team. Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to pursue freelance work more than what I normally do.
I’m happy to announce that I’m going to start freelancing quite a bit more now. I’ll be doing freelance enough to start my own brand and client base.
I’m pleased to announce that I’m calling this project “Ready Set Go”. If you, or anyone you know has any web related needs feel free to mention my name and send them the link to Ready Set Go! That would help me out a great deal.
I will continue to work for Delinea Design and will balance my time appropriately. I look forward to sharing new Ready Set Go projects and keeping everyone up-to-date with the new things happening in my life!
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me to follow the cue’s that God has presented to me.
Some of your may know that my birthday is in November. It just so happens that September – November is by far my favorite time of the year.
As we transition into cooler weather and the fall season I wanted to let everyone know what I’d like to get done in my life before winter. Here is the list…
1. Establish myself as a freelancer. You can read more about this by clicking here.
2. Enjoy my trip to San Francisco. It seems like I’ve been talking about this trip forever. Well, its finally happening in 2 weeks! Can’t wait.
3. Buy some new clothes. I sounds like my wife now but, I was looking in my closet this morning and noticed that my clothes are terrible and old. I need to seriously start shopping at more places than just target so my clothes will last longer.
4. Start playing shows with my new band. I’m really excited about my new band and can’t wait to start telling people more about it.
5. Buy a new computer. I few months ago sold my laptop and recently I’ve noticed that I really need one so I can get out of the house to work at some coffee shops.
I’m excited for fall. Great things are coming. I’m especially excited for all the new tech announcements happening in the next 2 weeks.
For every web designer there are some hurdles, one of them being web fonts. There are only so many fonts loaded on computers when you initially buy them so web designers need to know what those default fonts are in order to ensure the right fonts get used on your website. I’ve compiled a list of safe default fonts to use for the web. Continue reading “Google Web Fonts Vs. Type Kit”
My friend/co-worker Jamie Massey came to me to do some coding for his client Tastee’s Inn and Out, a local burger joint in Sioux City, IA. Click here to check out the results.
I’ve decided to save up for a moped. I just finished saving for my next computer and I’ve been pondering what to purchase next with my fun money that I get from working at Apple and my choice is a moped.
I’ve always wanted one and now it the time to do it. Here is a link to the one I’m going to purchase. http://www.genuinescooters.com/buddy.html#Specs
I will update you on the progress of my savings from time to time to let you know how close I actually am to buying my next toy. :)
